This week members of the Fire Company travelled to the Seagrave Fire Apparatus factory along with Hudson Valley Fire Equipment, LLC to conduct the final inspection on the refurbished Ladder 47. The 2001 "Mean Stick" was constructed 20 years ago with the full intention of refurbishment at the 20 year mark, and today those plans became reality.
The refurbishment process resulted in the complete removal, refurbishing, and re-certification of the aerial device, hydraulic system and the associated components, along with several safety upgrades to the vehicle and aerial device.
Ladder 47 will begin its journey back to Westchester shortly. We look forward to seeing this versatile truck back serving the North White Plains community and our neighboring agencies in the coming weeks. |
