Help Us Keep Hydrant Clear

Incident Date:
February 13, 2014

Neighbors helping neighbors! North White Plains is fortunate to have fire hydrants spread out throughout the area to provide a fast a reliable water source to firefighters in the event of a fire.

When snow storms occur these fire hydrants often get covered by plow trucks and snow blowers due to their close proximity to the street edge. Help us in the effort to keep fire hydrants clear throughout North White Plains. If you have a fire hydrant close to your home, we ask that while you clear your driveways and walkways that you also clear a path to and around the fire hydrant. Work with neighbors to clear the hydrant safely and be sure not to over-exert yourself.

At very least we ask that homeowners and contracted snow removers not angle their snow blowers so that they throw snow onto the area of the fire hydrant. If fire hydrants are covered completely our response may be severely delayed.

We thank you in advance for your cooperation and if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact us.
